Name: Duncan, Richard.
Historical Note: Richard Rideal Duncan was born in Halifax, Yorkshire, Canada on 3 September 1888. He served in 32nd Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force in Belgium before joining the No.1 School of Aeronautics, 16 August 1916 in England. He was then appointed Flying Officer, 11 December 1916, with No.5 Squadron, 27 December 1916 to 23 November 1917 when he was posted to Home Establishment. He would be promoted to No.106 Squadron as Captain, 24 April 1918. Duncan would author numerous books on flying and the air corps including, Air Navigation and Meteorology, Aircraft Flight Instructor, Stunt Flying and Practical Aviation. He immigrated to the United States in 1959 and died in October 1966.
