Name: Brewster, Lawrence C. (1899-1974)
Historical Note: A native of Portland, Maine, Lawrence C. Brewster enlisted in the United States Navy in 1916. On America's entry into World War I in 1917, Brewster was a crew member on the U.S.S. Tucker, a destroyer, based in Queenstown, Ireland, escorting convoys to and from Brest, France. After the war, served on merchant ship carrying grain between Montreal and Antwerp. In 1942-1943, served on SC (Submarine Chaser) 504, operating in the Pacific near Guadalcanal.
