Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Harry T. Moore Papers are primarily the manuscript copies of his two volume work The Collected Letters of D. H. Lawrence, published in 1962 by Heinemann in London.  Included are the book's introduction, copies of Lawrence's letters dated 1903-1930, and an index of recipients of the letters.  The papers contain Moore's annotations and edits.  Also included are a small amount of reproduced letters between Richard Aldington and Lawrence Durrell, likely used in Moore's co-edited book Literary Lifelines: The Richard Aldington-Lawrence Durrell Correspondence.  Many of these letters have Moore's editing marks.  Other letters among this set are written by Caresse Crosby regarding the Raymond Radiguet publication Les Joues en Feu, and other correspondents include Jean Fanchette and Freida Lawrence, and L J. P Gaskin.
