Scope and Contents of the Materials

Twenty-five small memo and account books and three reciepts from Reverend Robert Morris of Southern Illinois between 1895 and 1966. The collection includes accounts, receipts, sermons, addresses, and member lists from the various Methodist churches he presided over in Southern Illinois including McLeansboro, Eldorado, Edwardsville, Carbondale, Alton, Granite City, East St. Louis, and Lawrenceville.  Also includes notes on Indianola Methodist Church in Iowa.

Collection Historical Note

Reverend Robert Morris officiated over several southern Illinois Methodist churches.  He was the son of Eliza Morris and the husband of Dorothy Morris.
