Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Center for the Study of Crime, Delinquency, and Correction was established by the Board of Trustees effective July 1, 1961, for the purpose of career training in crime control. The Center's purpose also includes providing facilities for conferences and institutes for those engaged in the administration of criminal justice, stimulating research, and regional and national advisory services.

The academic division of the Center offers work leading to a Bachelor's and a Master's in Administration of Justice. Myrl E. Alexander was appointed Director effective December 1, 1961.

The Center was one of the original components of the College of Human Resources. It became a part of the College of Liberal Arts (RG 17-20) with the abolition of the College of Human Resources July 1989. (See also RG 22-7)
