Scope and Contents: Dr. Max Turner Wesley was a Professor working in the Government Department at Southern Illinois University. President Delyte Morris appointed him to a Committee on Facts and Figures to collect and assemble statistical data on the region and the university. This collection includes Professor Turner's files as chairman of that committee. The papers include correspondence, administrative files, printed material, and university records. Improving educational and socio-economic standards at the university was the goal. President Morris later made Dr. Wesley a member of Office of Institutional Research. For a short stint, he also acted as University Archivist at Morris Library.
