Scope and Contents: This collection consists of the papers of poet David Raymond Bond, born in 1949, who retired from Morris Library’s Special Collections Research Center in 2018. Materials relate chiefly to Bond’s development as a poet from the 1970s to 2018, including creative notes he made during his work in the warehouse of a coal mine in the 1980s. The collection also documents his education leading to his Master in Fine Arts degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, his articles in River to River Running Reporter, notes and materials for poetry courses he taught, and his awards. Box 3 features copies of most of Bond’s books and chapbooks, and journals and chapbooks in which his poems appear, from 1991 to 2018.
