Scope and Contents: The Paul H. Morrill papers is a small collection of clippings, writings by Morrill, correspondence, a photograph, and printed material documenting the final years of Delyte W. Morris's presidential tenure at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The topics include Morris's leadership and influence during the growth of SIUC in the 1950s and 1960s, the Vietnam War and Kent State protests of May 1970 that closed the university, Morris's presidential inauguration, the University House (Stone Center) controversy, and Morris's death. Also included are printed materials on the history of SIUC's Graduate School and of the Higher Education Graduate Program.
