Scope and Contents: The Howard Webb, Jr. Collection of Campus Unrest is an overview of the nation-wide campus unrest, protests, demonstrations and assemblies, as well as the academic and administrative reform specific to Southern Illinois University Carbondale during and after the closing of the campus in May of 1970. The collection spans from 1967 to 1972, and consists of faculty correspondence, student protest flyers, speech transcripts, and newspapers, zines, and magazines.
