Scope and Contents: The records of the Carbondale Business and Professional Women's Club include by-laws, meeting minutes, correspondence, treasurer's books, project and subject files, newsletters and other club publications, news clippings, scrapbooks, photographs, artifacts and memorabilia. There are large gaps in the meeting minutes for the 1950s and again from 1966-1995. Scapbooks were apparently kept for every year, but there are only loose scrapbook pages from the 1950s and no scrapbooks from 1979 to 1998. Correspondence is spotty. From 1984 through 1997 there are comprehensive project files for planning events connected wih National Business and Professional Women's Week, which took place every October. About one linear foot of material is devoted to the career of Fidella Doolin, a local club member who served as president of the Illinois Federation of Business and Professional Women from 1977-1978.
