Scope and Contents: The collection consists of correspondence from Burton Klein from December 1941 to 1945. The papers include correspondence from Klein, as well as his fiancee, Bluma Goldstein, to Klein's parents in Chicago, Illinois. The collection documents Klein's service in the United States Navy during World War II and reflects the hardship of training, shortages and boredom while serving in the Panama Canal Zone, Fort Pierce, Florida and United States Naval Reserve Midshipmen's School in New York.
