Scope and Contents: These records were transferred from the Office of International Education and document the international education programs at Southern Illinois University Carbondale from 1854-1975. Many of these programs involve SIUC faculty training teachers in foreign countries in business, agriculture, radio, education, and other disciplines, as well as creating educational programs at institutions within said countries. There are several files and focusing on work in Nepal, Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Afghanistan, and West Irian. Many files also document the work of the Center for Vietnamese Studies on the Carbondale campus.
