Holden Hospital records, 1913-1965 | Southern Illinois University Special Collections Research Center
The records of Holden Hospital, which was located in Carbondale, Illinois, consist of material from four different areas of the hospital. Included are departmental monthly reports, an audit report, and miscellaneous papers from the administrative division; records and correspondence dealing with the hospital medical staff; minutes, correspondence and other records from the hospital auxiliary; and fairly extensive papers from the Nurses Training School, including student files and class records. One hundred and four photographs depicting various departments and aspects of the hospital have been removed to the photograph collections.
The only patient records in the papers are operating room record books dating from 1925 to 1941. There is no correspondence and very little records dealing with the administration or finances of the hospital. Most notable among financial records is a complete volume of accounts from January 1960 to August 1961.
