Vincent Birge papers, 1953-1969
[Back to Formatted Version]
Brief Description: The Vincent Birge papers date from 1952, and consist of materials collected for his friend Henry Miller when, as a pilot for TWA, he brought back from Europe news, books, messages from old friends, and materials difficult to obtain in the States.  A significant amount of the  correspondence in this collection is from people other than Birge, including John Houghton Allen, Emil White, Pierre Laleure and their wives, Loraine Fowler Birge and Eve McClure Miller. Notebooks Birge kept while secretary to Miller in the 1960's, newspaper clippings, and printed ephemera about Miller, make up the remainder of the Vincent Birge Papers.
