Scope and Contents: The Student Life Project consists of correspondence, articles, draft manuscripts, and information regarding copyright and donations to the project. This began as a pair of graduate history courses under the guidance of Dr. Michael Batinski. The intention of the colloquium and seminar courses was to research, develop, and publish a local history which focused on a photographic history of student life at the Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. The primary research done for the classes was done in research Southern Illinois University's student run newspaper, The Egyptian and later the Daily Egyptian in order to find what issues matter to students. Interviews with locals and alumnus were also conducted.
