Scope and Contents: This collection consists of the papers of the Hegeler and Carus families. The papers include correspondence, diaries, printed materials and photographs. The collection documents the daily life in LaSalle, Illinois at the turn of the 20th century. Correspondence includes letters from family members and business associates. There is also correspondence between Edward and Camilla Weisbach Hegeler and W. W. Boyington, who was commissioned to design their 57 room Mansion. They also employed August Fiedler to design its interior.
