Scope and Contents: This collection consists of diaries of four-time Carbondale mayor, state representative, and Southern Illinois Normal University board member Ezekiel Ingersoll for parts of 1886, 1888, 1889, and 1920; a Carbondale voting role (n.d.) and tax ledger from 1876; ledgers from Ingersoll's jewelry business are from 1878, 1891-1894, 1916-1919; and some photographs of Ingersoll, some possibly from reunions of the 73rd Regiment Illinois Infantry Volunteers, in which Ingersoll served. There is a roster from the first reunion in 1887, and a typescript of a speech apparently given by Ingersoll at the reunion in 1914. There is also a notebook, not dated, with notes on Civil War history.
